The followings are types of discounts which entrepreneurs can give to their customers inorder to increase sales for the goods and services which they sell once the customer has purchased or about to purchase goods and services from the business.

Entrepreneurs can give trade discount to their customers incase the customers purchases goods and services with the aim of selling those goods and services back to other customers or consumers.These discounts should  be given to customers incase the entrepreneurs are producing or manufacture of goods and services.

Entrepreneurs can give quantity discount to their customer's incase the customers purchases large amount of goods from the business so as to influence customers to purchase more goods and services from the business in the future or when the customer's comes again to the business.

Entrepreneurs can give cash discount to their customers incase they makes early payment for the goods and services which they had sold to them.You should only give these discounts to your customers incase you sold the goods and services to the customers on credit and then you had agreed that for example that your customers had to pay for the goods and services at the end of the month.But when it happens that the customers pays for the goods and services before the end of the month then you can give them cash discounts,these cash discounts will not be applicable to customers who pays at the end of the months or thereafter that month.

Entrepreneurs can give seasonal discounts to their customers for all the seasonal goods and services which they are selling in their businesses.Seasonal goods and services can be products such as umbrellas,fashions items such as fashions clothes or fashion design cars or any fashion accessories which losses it worth after certain period of time due to demand for them lowers after some time.So entrepreneur should only  give seasonal discounts to seasonal goods when their demands by customers for those seasonal products have gone down.Like for example when their is new fashion clothes then more customers would want to purchase the clothe so the price for the clothe would have to shoot or be higher but when too many people purchases or have purchased the clothe then other customers would not want to purchase the clothe because they sees or perceive that the fashion have become outdated so fewer customers would want to purchase them.So as a business owner then you will have to sell the remaining fashion stocks which you have at a lower price or simply give discounts to your customers so as to sell the remaining fashion clothes stocks or to clear the fashion stocks that you already left with.The discounts can also be given to products such as umbrellas which are expensive during rainy seasons but are lower during sunny seasons because less peoples have demands for them during sunny days so umbrellas become sold at discounted rate during sunny days.Seasonal discounts can also be given during the end of financial year so as to clear stocks which you already have to easily calculate your financial statements of accounts such as profits and loss accounts,balance sheets and cash flow accounts for your business financial performance.

Entrepreneurs can give promotional discount incase they are promoting their goods and services.These discounts should be given incase your are new to the business or you have introduced new products to the business so you give promotional discount to your customers so that customers knows your new business or for customers to know the new products and services which your selling at the market. 

Entrepreneurs can give geographical discount to their customers based on distances between the business and where their customers are located.These discounts is applicable only when you are supplying goods and services by transporting the goods and services to too many customers located in different geographical locations.So customers who are located near your business will enjoy or receive more discounts on the goods and services purchased while those customers who are located far from the business will receive less discounts since you will have to cater for the extra cost of transporting the goods and services to where the customer's are located.

Entrepreneurs can also give trade-in credit discount to their customers incase they have introduced newer version of certain products and inorder for customers to get discounts when purchasing the newer version of the product then they customers have to return the older version of similar product brands which they had initially bought long time ago.So incase your are making products such mobile phones and it happens that you have produced or introduced newer version or advanced version for similar mobile phones so you will have or you will give discounts to customers who returns the older version of mobile phones incase the customer wants to purchase the newer versions for the mobile phone.So the customers will have to return the older version of mobile phone inorder to get discount when purchasing the newer version for the mobile phone.These discounts is only given to customers incase entrepreneurs are manufacturing or producing goods and services and it happens that they have introduced newer advanced version of products and services which they want to sell to the market.So the aim of giving trade-in credit discounts is to enable their customers to have the newer versions of products and to remove the older versions of products out of the market so that they can also be able to recycle them.
